Hello Kutsher's Day Camp families!

We hope that you are as excited as we are for camp to begin. It's been another crazy year and we believe that kids continue to need camp more than ever. Our welcome to camp packet can only be viewed on a desktop. To see a pdf version, click here.

Summer camp gives kids the opportunity to grow. According to the American Camp Association, some of the main benefits of camp include gaining confidence, developing social skills, making new friends, and becoming more adventurous.

2023 will be a summer to disconnect from technology and reconnect with friends. Your campers will have the opportunity to get outside, play their favorite sports, and create lasting friendships.

If you have any questions as we get closer to camp, feel free to reach us at any time.  We are looking forward to a wonderful summer!

Love,

Hillary & Mike

Hi everyone,

I'm so excited to be back at Kutsher's Day Camp this summer!

Throughout the school year, I am a teacher at the Berkshire School's UMCC. I am originally from Pittsfield, MA and I now live in Salisbury, CT. with my husband and my daughter Maddie (who will be attending day camp at Kutsher's for the second time this summer).

My favorite sport is track and field and I was the captain of the track team at UMass Lowell.  I love watching kids grow and develop and look forward to supporting them as they try new things this summer.

If you have any questions throughout the summer, do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing you all soon. It's going to be a wonderful summer!

Best,

Tristin

Health and Safety

At Kutsher's day camp, we take the health of our campers very seriously. We ask that you partner with us in keeping every camper healthy. Please do not send your camper if they are not well enough to participate in camp activities. All campers must be fever free without taking medicine for 24 hours before they can return to camp (without having any other COVID symptoms).

We will contact you when:

> A camper becomes ill with a fever and/or vomiting.

> A camper has a significant bump, bruise, or cut.

> A camper has any head-related injury.

> A camper visits the health center multiple times in one day.

If we can't reach you, we will call the emergency contact.

MEDICATIONS

Over-the-counter medications can only be administered if you and your doctor have both signed our "over-the-counter medication" form.

State law mandates that any medication, over the counter or prescribed, epi-pens, inhalers, etc. will be administered by our camp nurses ONLY if the proper documentation is on file.

Program

DAILY PROGRAM

All day campers will travel in small groups to their activities. To see a sample schedule, please click here.

SPECIAL EVENT DAYS

Every Wednesday will be a special event day. We do request that campers wear their Kutsher's t-shirt on Wednesdays. If campers need any other equipment, we will notify you via email.

SWIMMING

All swimming at Kutsher's Day Camp takes place in beautiful Lake Buel. Kutsher's follows the guidelines of the American Red Cross Instructional Swim Program Levels 1-6. Swim is an integral part of our day camp program. Due to space restrictions, we will do our best to provide swim lessons to all non-swimmers two times per week.

DAILY LUNCH & SNACKS

Kutsher's Sports Academy encourages all families to pack a nut-free lunch. Lunches must be sent in a lunchbox with an ice pack. Kutsher's will also offer an optional lunch this summer. Campers must opt into our lunch program for the full week ($50 for the week).

Kuther's Day Camp will provide campers with a pre-packaged individual snack each morning and afternoon.

SUNSCREEN & BUG SPRAY

Please apply sunscreen & bug spray before your camper arrives at camp. We ask that you send in additional sunscreen and bug spray (labeled with your camper's name). Counselors will reapply during the day.

Contact

Please contact Hillary by email (info@ksa.camp) or phone (413-644-0077) with any questions.
